Halloween 2016

It’s not a secret that in the past, living in Latvian, I was not Halloween fan. Especially didn’t like that my pupils at secondary wanted to celebrate Halloweens during the school day as it was very learning disruptive.  Even now I am not a big fan of Halloween, but we are doing them, because it is quite difficult to ignore traditions of the country where we live. Probably we are celebrating Halloween because of boys and the place where we live; the village really goes mad and festive on this night, nearly everyone is up for good fun. It is the second year when we are taking part, too. (Last year’s Halloween post here.)

To choose a costume is a big deal and learn a lesson last year that need to be sorted out at least during September to get right size and wanted character. Lauris dressed up as Skeleton Robot with Clown hair, Markus costume was simpler, a pumpkin, but then during couple celebrations he swap his hat to skeleton mask. Olivers was cutest, little Mummy’s Pumpkin.

We did some Halloween decorations on front of the house. Our Front Door Autumn Wreath became a little bit more Halloweenish. Together with boys we made ghost bunting and hang up a spooky ghost, also they did carve pumpkins with Dad. Lauris carved his pumpkin independently first time in his life, be easy on him, I still think he did a good job, just now after that I have some more grey hear for sure.

Un, protams, 31. oktobra vakarā Trick or Treat neizpalika.

And, of course, boys did Trick and Treat on the evening of 31st October.
