Skrējiens Otrajos Ziemassvētkos/ Boxing Day Race

Lauris to izdarīja, noskrēja un pats bija ļoti, ļoti priecīgs. Protams, mēs, vecāki, bijām vispriecīgākie un lepnākie.

One of the traditions of the village is the Boxing Day Run. When most of England is hurrying to hit the sales, in our village is organised a run which is participated from all around. This run is also called Turkey Run.

We decided to take a part in such a great activity on a day when food has been too much recently and the only option is go out and burn those all calories. This year Lauris participated in the group for 7 to 13 years old children and ran 1 km. It was Lauris’s first marathon and before it we more worked with anxiety, lack of confidence and not believing in his skills. I think there are no many opportunity to run 1 km at school or at football, but Lauris did, and after was very, very happy. Of course, we, the parents, were most happy and most proud with our boy.
